As a high school lightweight rower, I have looked up to the Stanford women’s lightweight rowing team since middle school. The coaches, athletes, and alumni of this team have inspired me for years. As a recruited athlete to Stanford, I was so excited to be a part of this monumental program, and I was so saddened to hear that the team would not continue past the 2020-2021 school year. I hope that there will be a future for the lightweight women at Stanford so they can inspire future rowers just as they inspired me.
